The City of Afton is located in Washington County, approximately fifteen miles east of downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, along the beautiful St. Croix River. Afton is nearly 25.6 square miles in size and contains a variety of land uses including agricultural, rural residential and commercial districts – the latter primarily located in the Historic Village.

Afton is included in the Stillwater School District, district 834.   Several churches serve the area including Memorial Lutheran, St. Mary’s of Basswood Grove Episcopal and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Afton is surrounded by the towns of Woodbury, MN, Stillwater, MN, Hudson, WI and Hastings, MN.  All of these areas are located within a short drive and feature grocery stores, mass merchandise stores, arts/theater, hospitals/clinics and other services.
